Father, not son

Clarification:  A story Friday said that firefighter Reginald Blakey failed to disclose to a background investigator during his application to the Fire Department that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to a September 2004 memo between the Police and Fire departments. The memo was in Blakey’s personnel file. Blakey and his father Reginald Blakey (different middle name) both said that the warrant was for the father.

Rails not quite that busy

Correction:
The number of passengers in the Northeast Corridor was misstated in a story on a visit to New Haven by  U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. He said commuter lines and Amtrak carry more than 250 million passengers a year, not per day.

Toni Walker is Harp supporter, not campaign chairwoman

A New Haven Register editorial Friday referred to state Rep. Toni Walker as a co-chairwoman of Toni Harp's mayoral campaign. She is only a supporter.

A story on a firefighter's suspension in the July 19 edition of the New Haven Register and online incorrectly reported the work week the department uses.
The department schedule for firefighters is three days on, three days off.

No further tax hike planned this year in Hamden

A headline on a story about staff reductions in Hamden incorrectly reported that a tax increase is possible. The budget approved for this fiscal year included a tax increase, but no further increase is planned this year.

We should have looked it up

Correction: A column on New Haven architectural icons misspelled the name Merriam in a reference to Merriam-Webster's dictionary.
