A story in Thursday’s edition about Kristen Griest of Orange passing the Army Ranger course incorrectly stated how many tries it took she and Shaye Haver to pass the course. They failed the course at first and were allowed to repeat it, an option given to both men and women who excel  in some aspects but which extends the time spent in the course.
