Coaching changes

The reporting of the Yale football coaching search had its share of twists and turns over the past few days.

We first reported UConn defensive coordinator Don Brown was "expected" to be named Yale's next coach. We emphasized sources "stressed" the deal was not done with Brown. However, we stand by our reporting that Brown was offered the position. He withdrew his name.

We then reported on Wednesday that Dave Cecchini of Lehigh would be named. This was the result of miscommunication between a source and our reporter.

A corrected version with the naming of Tony Reno was reported within 46 minutes of the Cecchini story.

We regret the error.
