A story that ran on the New Haven Register website Wednesday incorrectly reported the source of a quote about the death penalty. The quote should have been attributed to state Rep. David K. Labriola, R-Naugatuck, a member of the legislature’s Judiciary Committee.

The initially version had attributed the quote to the chairman of the state’s Republican party, Jerry Labriola. He, however, does not take positions on bills currently before the legislature for approval.
